Jim [plot 41] has been busy this week turning our communal compost heaps at both the garage and town ends of the site. He has also pushed back the wood pile and cleared access to the original soil/spoil heap at the garage end of our site.
So do help yourself to some well rotted compost which will make excellent top-soil for your plot. All you need is a wheel barrow and spade. Use one of the riddles to sift out the bigger stones, roots and pieces of wood.
The ‘ready-to-spread’ heaps are clearly marked, as are the bays for depositing your unwanted green waste. Please do not add large lumps of wood or prunings as these take ages to rot down. All wood and prunings must be placed in the firewood bay ready for our next bonfire.
